Q. What are the benefits of following your program? A. Better Health, improvement in blood pressure , joint pain, Type II Diabetes either controlled
or reversed, fibromyalgia, sleep apnea, PCOS, and more. Q. Can losing weight be harmful or even dangerous? A. Yes. If you have hypertension, Type II Diabetes, Fibromyalgia,
Joint problems, cancer, or if you are a senior citizen, it is very important to be treated by a physician who is trained
in treatment of overweight, obesity, and all related diseases. If you lose incorrectly or too fast, you can reduce
your muscle mass by losing muscle tissue rather than fat. We stress the correct way to lose weight and monitor
body fat percentages often. Doctor Stern is The only
physician in this area certified by American Board of Obesity Medicine.
Q. Do we have to take expensive
shots and/or cut our calories drastically low? A. No! the Obesity Medical Association teaches that injections such as HGH and a
very low calorie diet should not be used. They can be very harmful in the long-run.
Q. Do we have to buy special
food for your program? A. No. We teach you
how to prepare food in a healthy way and how to change your food selections to facilitate healthy weight loss.
Q.
What ages can benefit from your program? A. Any age from adolescents to elderly. We have no age limit. Youngest has been 7 and oldest 92.
Q. Do you require
a contract or payment in advance? A. No. Our patients
are charged for initial visit and then are asked to return monthly until weight is under control. It is up to the patient
how long they continue. Q.
What can we expect on the first visit? A. Expect to stay
at least 2 hours. Your physical condition will be evaluated by Dr. Stern, review of your history, review of your labs,
and you will spend a great deal of time with Dr. Stern on education, and how and why you have a problem, and what to do about
it. Every patient has an individual treatment plan.
Q. How long are return visits? A. We allow 30 minutes for return visits. Dr. Stern will always have time for each patient.
Q. Do you take medicare, medicaid, or insurance? A. No we have chosen to opt-out of Medicare and do not file your insurance.
We will give you a coded bill to present to your insurance company for payment and help with required information if requested.
Q. What kind of payment do you accept? A.
We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, HSA, Flex Cards, Checks and Cash.
